ESFF-094 "Koorkula Nature Reserve" New one!
December 1st of 2012.
My ever first expedition from abroad, Estonia using my Estonian callsign ES6TW. Of course the call was ES6TW/6. Preparing to this equipment was that what I did not worried about at all. The weather forecasts were my headace. From the very first days of the week snow was falling down more and more each day so I was in doubt about how to get inside the territory. Anyway on Saturday day there were no forecasted snowfall so I went off to the Koorkula Nature preserve. Surprisingly even the small gravel road leading to few houses inside the territory was cleaned from snow allowing me to get into area. Snow was about 25-30cm and a few degree C below the zero.Bad luck came with antenna installation. The lower branches of some minor trees did not allowed me to pull up the antenna so I had to do it all again. Anyway after an hour everything was prepared and operation could start. I was aware that I will not get the necessary minimum of QSO needed for the activation to count, as in first 15 minutes I made just 8 contacts! But after someone spotted me on cluster all was OK. Within some more of 3 hours I made 271 QSOs so my first activation was successfull.
