YLCA-0024 Ergeme castle ruins. New one!

21st and 23rd April of 2013.

This was actually "ocasional" activation. I built a new antenna, portable GP for field day style operations and I needed to test it. As the Ergeme castle was the closest place with some kind of reference, I drove my car with equipment there and with a help of my youngest son Elvis we erected it up next to the castle wall. The vertical part was 21m long so we threw the line over a tall larch tree. When the antenna analyzer was attached, it showed very bad picture. Lowest SWR was about 3 reaching full scale, 10 units, on non resonant frequencies. I was very badly surprised. Later I found on the internet that it should be so. I will try to solve this problem somehow later. Anyway I tried to make some contacts and after some hour or so I left this as the antenna was really bad working. Few locals visited our operation site. They thought we are hitting the fishes in pond with electricity!!! After they saw our setup and discussed with us they barely understood what we are doing and surely that we are not doing anything illegal in field of fishing, hi! As the number of QSOs was small, I came here again on Tuesday evening after a job to get neccessary count of QSOs for activation. With my normally working New Carolina Windom antenna.
