This was an unplanned activation. I made some improwement of my antenna and needed to test it on field conditions. So I drove those 35km to the territory and made up a setup. With antenna analyzer checked the antenna and found it more or less OK. Then connected it to transceiver and very badly surprised. Transceiver pushed out maximum 50W in antenna and there were sounds, that meant that much of the power delivered to antenna comes back from it. This meant that the choke balun did not worked well. And that was the thing I just corrected according to internet information sources. Even bought ferrite cores for it from Amidon, USA. I was very dissappointed. Even thought that I should go home without any operation on air at all. But everything was ready to go so I tried to work with just 25W into antenna. Was much harder than other times but in 2 hours I made 150 QSOs which were enough for activation and even some JAs along with UA0S were in logged. So I made my first low power activation.
