May 30th of 2013.

This activation I planed a bit before as I knew I will have to be in Valmiera that day and this area is just about 15km from there. Was a bit surprised that there is even paved parking place. It took some time to understand where will be the best place for antenna but finally I found one. The height of antenna was about 20m over the ground. Everything promised to be fine. BUT, then again I heard in dynamic, that antenna is radiating back to transceiver. Shortened the cable to antenna for about half, no changes. So this time I worked with the 50W out only. Shortly after the start of operation I could heard some thunderstorm coming up nearby. Fortunately only very light rain hit me for about 15 minutes. Weather forecast on the internet did not even mentioned any rain possibility that day there. So never trust the forecasts, hi! 17m this time was the band! Some W and JAs were worked. As it was a middle of day, 30m and 40m were not much active. So for 2,5 hours some 215 QSOs were made. As this area was activated by YL44WFF in March this year, this was not new one, just for me myself. My 13th YLFF activated area.
